Here I am, back on Canalblog after such a long silence, and ready to update my photo albums. And I am not going to find excuses saying that our Internet connection is slow, even though it is true.
What’s up? Our Indian life goes on, with the usual ups and downs. We spent two months in France, and our Delhi apartment was more or less repaired and freshly painted (remember that in January loads of water were falling through the ceiling?). When we came back, we found out that the walls and ceilings were covered with water stains (monsoon), half of the ACs had broken down, as well as 12 ceiling lamps, and one of the bathrooms had no water at all. Well, that is a comeback.
The children are back in school (exams in May and June), Laurent back in the office (or in the long process of shuttling back and forth). As for me, I spend my time driving here and there, doing sports and yoga, volunteering for NGOs, supervising the school work and shopping (which takes a lot of time here as you never find all that you need in a single place). We do our best to avoid mosquito bites, as dengue is very strong this year. When we get a bite, we count 5 days and look out for the first symptoms…
During the October holidays, we traveled to Karnataka and Kerala, it was so beautiful, and I am going to post pictures. The tropical climate make things and people softer… Hadrien found a Wi-Fi connection almost everywhere, he was delighted.
Last week I went back to Udaipur with friends. What a magic city, with palaces and havelis reflecting in the lake. Not many tourists, so the shopkeepers focused on us, trying to sell poor quality stuff. Oh yes, we saw a group of French tourists, yelling and making noise, they probably thought they were at the Club Med. And some of the (young and not so young) ladies were wearing really tight shorts… So clever and respectful of the local culture!
